Sword Of The Stranger.
A great anime, a future classic. Saw this two years ago, and it recently came to mind after watching True Girt, which believe it or not has a lot in common in regards to the characters relationships, development and some of the cinematography. Yes that's right, even thought it's an anime.

True Grit.
Wow, The Coen Brothers do it again by delivering a gently masterpiece story which strength lies in the simplicity of its journey, story telling and character. Perfectly Directed, with an amazing score by Carter Burwell. Check out my favourite theme from the movie, called Your Headstrong Ways, which can inspire any moment. This isn't a John Wayne western, This isn't a Clint Eastwood, This is a Coen Brothers western.

Two weeks ago I watched Black Swan with a friend and it blew us both away. I urge you all to watch it. Darren Aranofsky is a legend already in the eyes of cinema lovers. Check out his back catalogue, they are all winners.

Dogtooth.
Every now and then you come across a movie which changes the subject of what can be expressed and presented in cinema.
With a similar feeling to the one you get when you first watch Larry Clark's film BULLY, Dogtooth manages to evoke that familiar emotion of a car crash in the happening - disturbing to watch yet you are compelled to look on. It is a genius film, largely down to marring the comedic elements of what is a very dark subject, with iconic and very beautifully composed framing. Forget Gaspar Noe's Enter the Void, compared to this, that now seems like artistic dribble. If you want unnerving narrative and arresting visuals that you'll have embedded in your mind - this is this years most shocking film.

Saw TRON : Legacy 3D at the IMAX last night.
Average, cliche filled story.
But. It has more plus points.
Amazing visuals, design, adventure made this an enjoyable big screen experience.
Daft Punks soundtrack being the saving and enhancing grace.
It's split opinions - I enjoyed it.

Title : Smoke Outside Please

Here's a sneak peek trailer at something I'm making at the moment. A film documentary short about lifestyle and smoking with our current generation. The track used in the clip here is by my favourite band The National and is called Mistaken For Strangers, and is only a place-holder until the film is completed when which a licensed soundtrack will be created. This is completely non-commercial and a personal endeavour.
